Import creatives from Google Drive
Bring images and videos from Google Drive (or a OneDrive link) straight into the editor, without downloading anything to your computer.
Quick answer
In the Meta Ads Editor, below Creatives, click Import from Google Drive and pick the files in your Google account. Or open Use a shared link (alternative), paste the link to a folder or file, click Find files, check what goes in and click Add selected files.

Before you start
- With the Import from Google Drive button you can pick private files: just authorize your Google account once.
- With a shared link, the file or folder must be shared with Anyone with the link. Subfolders are not included.
- Limits: up to 25 files per search and 1 GB per file, the same as uploading from your computer.
Step by step
In this example, we import the pieces from a shared Drive folder.
- 1
Pick the account and campaigns
Open the Meta Ads Editor, pick the account and check the campaigns, as in a regular upload.
- 2
Find the files
Click Import from Google Drive to open the Google picker. To use a link, open Use a shared link (alternative), paste the link and click Find files.
- 3
Choose what goes in
Check the thumbnails (click to enlarge) and uncheck what should not go. Under Import into, choose Creatives / feed or Stories and reels, if custom placement is on.
- 4
Add and upload
Click Add selected files. The files join the creatives list as if they came from your computer. Continue the upload and click Create Ads.
Importing does not publish
Bringing files from Drive only fills the creatives list. Nothing goes to Meta until you click Create Ads.
How to tell it worked
- The message shows how many files were added.
- The files show up in the creatives list, with name and size, and the ad counter goes up.
If something goes wrong
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The file is not shared with Anyone with the link | The link is private | In Drive, click Share and change General access, or use the Import from Google Drive button |
| No images or videos found in this folder | The pieces are in a subfolder | Open the folder with the pieces and copy its link |
| Google is limiting downloads | The file had too many views | Try later or download it and use Choose files |
| The Drive button does not show in the iPhone app | Google does not allow signing in inside the app | Use the computer browser or the shared link |
Frequently asked questions
How do I import images and videos from Google Drive to Meta Ads Editor?
In the media area of Meta Ads Editor there's an Import from Google Drive button:
- Google Selector: click the button, authorize your Google account once and pick files directly from your Drive, including private ones (nothing needs to be made public).
- Use shared link (alternative): paste the link to a folder or a file with link access. We don't change your sharing settings.
Limits: up to 25 files per import and 1 GB per file, the same limit as a regular upload from your computer. Importing doesn't publish anything: the files are added to the creatives list as if they came from your computer, and you continue with the normal upload.
You can also do this through MCP or AI Copilot: ask for the import and give the full Share link.
Which file formats does the editor accept, and are there size or quantity limits?
Images in JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF and WEBP formats and videos in MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV and WEBM are supported. You can upload up to 50 files at a time. Large videos are supported too, including files over 100MB: the system automatically uses optimized chunked upload and Meta's advanced upload, with no size-limit error. Very large videos can take Meta a few minutes to process, and the screen shows the progress of the media upload and ad creation in real time.
