Get started
Ads Editor in 10 minutes
Your first-week path: connect your accounts, pick which ones to work on, manage campaigns, upload ads and send your first report.
Quick answer
Click Connect Meta (or Connect Google) in the side menu, authorize with your login and turn on the ad accounts you want to use. That is it: they show up in the Account Hub, Meta Ads and Google Ads, and you can already upload ads in Meta Ads Editor and create a report in Reports.
Before you start
- Have the Facebook login that can access the ad accounts (directly or through Business Manager) or the Google email that can access the MCC.
- You do not need your client’s Facebook password: your login only needs access to their ad account.
- How many accounts can be active at the same time depends on your plan. You can change which ones at any time.
Step by step
Follow the order. Each step takes a few minutes and unlocks the next one.
- 1
Connect Meta or Google
In the side menu, click Connect Meta and then Connect Meta Ads. Log in to Facebook and authorize the access. For Google, the path is Connect Google and Connect Google Ads. On mobile, both items are under More. Details in How do I connect my Meta account and How do I connect Google Ads.
- 2
Pick your ad accounts
When you come back, you see the list of accounts your login can access. None comes checked: turn on the ones you will manage and click Save Selection and Go to Dashboard. Accounts from another Facebook profile or another MCC come in through Connect another profile.
- 3
See every account in one place
Open the Account Hub: your chosen accounts show up side by side with spend and results for the period. To see each account’s balance and how many days it still lasts, use Monitor Balance.
- 4
Manage your campaigns
In Meta Ads and Google Ads you pause, activate, change budgets and filter campaigns, ad sets and ads from any chosen account. To reuse a campaign that works, use Duplicate, even into another ad account.
- 5
Upload ads in bulk
Open Meta Ads Editor, choose the account and campaigns, check the ad sets and drop in the images and videos. Fill in Primary Text, Headline and Website URL only once and click Create Ad: each creative becomes an ad in every checked ad set.
- 6
Send your first report
In Reports, click New Report, give it a name, add the accounts and choose what the client sees. Click Create Report: the link is ready to copy and send, and the numbers update on their own.
- 7
Ask the Copilot for help
In AI Copilot, choose the account and write what you want, as you would to a media buyer: "what should I scale today?" or "why did my CPA get worse this week?". When the request changes the account, it shows what it will do and only runs it after your click.
The Getting started card checks itself
During the first 30 days, the Getting started card shows up in the Account Hub and in Meta Ads and checks itself off as you connect, pick your accounts, create the report and open the Copilot. Nothing to check by hand.
How to tell it worked
- The accounts you turned on show up in the Account Hub with the period’s spend.
- In Meta Ads (or Google Ads), the account picker shows only the ones you chose.
- The report you created shows up in Reports with the sharing link on its card.
If something goes wrong
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| An account is missing from the list | The login you connected cannot access it | Ask for access to the account in Business Manager or connect the profile that has access through Connect another profile |
| I cannot turn on more accounts | Your plan’s active account limit was reached | Turn off an account you no longer use or move to a plan with more accounts |
| I do not see Connect Meta in the menu | You logged in as a team member | The account owner connects, or a member with that permission in Team |
Frequently asked questions
How do I connect my Meta account in Ads Editor?
To connect your Meta account (Facebook/Instagram):
- In the side menu, click Connect Meta (on mobile: More → Connect Meta).
- Click Connect Meta Ads.
- Log in to Facebook and approve access to ads and Pages.
- When you come back, turn on the ad accounts you want in the Ad Accounts panel.
Ad accounts from the Business Managers on your profile appear in that list. To use another Facebook profile, click Connect another profile.
Connect Meta is visible to the account owner. A team member sees it only when the owner grants the Connect Meta permission under Team. The member can then open the page, click Connect profile, and add the profile to the owner's Ads Editor account. The owner chooses which ad accounts that member can access.
How do I connect Google Ads?
To connect Google Ads (including MCC accounts):
- In the side menu, click Connect Google (on mobile: More → Connect Google).
- Click Connect Google Ads.
- Sign in with the Google email that has access to the MCC (or to the accounts) and authorize.
- The Choose your Google Ads accounts screen opens. Turn on the accounts you want to use. You can use Activate all and Search account....
- Click Save Selection and Go to Dashboard.
Details:
- The list shows the MCC's client accounts, not the MCC itself. None are selected by default, so you choose.
- Added a new account to the MCC later? Click Re-sync accounts on the same screen.
- For another MCC or another email, use Connect another profile.
- The Connect Google item appears for the account owner. A team member only sees it if the owner grants them the Connect Google permission under Team. The member then opens the item, clicks Connect profile, and the profile is added to the owner's Ads Editor account. The owner can then grant access to the right accounts.
Can I connect multiple profiles or multiple ad accounts at the same time?
Yes.
If it is a Facebook or Google Ads profile: you can connect more than one profile in Ads Editor.
If it is an ad account: when connecting the profile, the system lists the ad accounts linked to it.
- Meta: after connecting Facebook, the ad accounts available to that login are added (including via Business Manager).
- Google Ads: after connecting the Google login, the system lists the accounts that this login accesses (including MCC); select the accounts you want to use.
The limit of active accounts at the same time depends on the plan. To connect and manage profiles, use Connect Meta or Connect Google in the side menu.
What is the Getting Started card that appears on the screen?
This is the new account setup checklist. In the first 30 days it appears on the welcome page (Start here), in the Account Center and in Meta Ads, with four steps that are checked off automatically as you use the product:
- Connect Meta or Google (Connect button).
- Choose ad accounts (Choose button).
- Create the first report (Create button).
- Meet the Copilot (Open button).
You don't need to mark anything by hand: the step is completed when the action happens. To hide the card, click the x (Dismiss); it also disappears on its own when the account is 30 days old or when the four steps are completed. Team members do not see this card: whoever connects and chooses the accounts is the owner.
How do I publish ads in bulk in Meta Ads Editor?
To publish ads in bulk:
- Open Meta Ads Editor in the side menu.
- Select the ad account and the campaigns that should receive the ads. You can select several campaigns at once, even with different objectives (Ctrl/Cmd + click).
- Under Select Ad Sets, active ad sets are already selected. Select or clear any you want.
- Upload the creatives. You can mix images and videos in the same batch.
- Choose the format: each creative becomes a single ad, or turn on Carousel to group 2 to 10 files into one ad, in the order you selected them.
- Fill in Primary Text, Headline, and Website URL. If you leave them blank, the Editor copies them from the latest ad in each ad set.
- Select Active if you want the ad to start running right away, then click Create Ad.
With Publication Queue Mode you don't have to wait for the upload to finish. The batch enters the queue in seconds, and you can select other campaigns and start the next batch.
To change the ad's Page or Instagram account, set it under Page and Instagram. If you leave it untouched, the Editor keeps the Page and Instagram account from the previous ad.
How do I create a report to send to my client?
Open the Reports page in the side menu and click New Report. Give the report a name (for example, Monthly Performance), add one or more Meta ad accounts in the Add account field and, if you want, an Instagram account and Google Ads accounts too. Choose the Data Level (Campaigns, Ad Sets or Ads), select the metrics you want to show, and turn the Report Sections on or off. Under Access, choose between Public (no password) or Password protected. Click Create Report: the sharing link is generated automatically and appears on the report card, ready to copy and send to your client.
The editor has two modes. In Simple, everything is on one screen: accounts, access and What the client sees, with ready-made styles (Overview, Sales, Leads, Messages, Reach and profile). Advanced has the Accounts, Metrics, Sections and Access tabs. If you close without saving, your changes are kept as a draft on your device, and the Discard draft button appears when you reopen it.
Does AI Copilot only answer questions, or can it take actions for me?
It can take actions. AI Copilot has the same functions as MCP, on Meta and Google: pause and activate, adjust budgets, duplicate (including to another account), create campaigns, ad sets, ads, and audiences, manage keywords, build reports, deactivate or reactivate a report link, create rules and alerts (including for Google Ads), and search for ads by copy, URL, ID, or creation date, among others.
It never changes anything on its own: when a request changes your account, it shows a card with what it will do and only runs it when you click the button. Deletion requires explicit confirmation: the card is labeled Delete (irreversible), and Copilot offers pausing as an alternative.
