When I duplicate a campaign to another account, are disapproved ads included (for example, from a deactivated account)?
Yes. Disapproved ads are included in the copy. Only deleted and archived ads are left out. This matters for an account deactivated by Meta, where all ads are disapproved: the copy includes the campaign, ad sets, and ads. It applies when you duplicate a campaign within the same account or to another one.
Path: Meta Ads → Bulk edits → select the campaign → Duplicate → turn on Duplicate to another ad account → choose the destination account and, in its settings, the Page, Instagram account, and pixel.
Good to know:
- The copies go through Meta's review again in the destination account, like any new ad. If the ad itself violates a policy, it may be disapproved there too. In that case, adjust the creative or the text.
- Website conversion campaigns need a pixel in the destination account. Without one, the copy fails with that reason. Create a pixel in the destination account, or share one with it, and duplicate again.
- The result appears on a card in the corner of the screen: Completed, Completed with warnings (with the reason below), or Duplication failed.
