My ad account was disabled by Meta. What shows up in Ads Editor, and what can I still do?
The Meta Ads page tells you. At the top, where Connected would normally appear, you'll see Account deactivated by Meta with a red dot. A banner above the summary shows the reason Meta gave (for example, an ad policy violation, payment risk, or a suspected compromised account) and the Open Account Quality link (https://www.facebook.com/business-support-home/), where you can request a review from Meta.
While the account is deactivated:
- ads do not run;
- creating campaigns, duplicating into it, or editing does not work, because Meta rejects it;
- the data keeps showing in Ads Editor;
- you can duplicate its campaigns to another active account. The deactivated account still appears in Ads Editor: under Connect Meta → Ad Accounts it has the Disabled label, and you can still turn it on with the toggle (it uses one slot of your plan's account limit). In Meta Ads, in the account selector, disabled accounts are in the Disabled by Meta section at the end of the list (click to expand), or you can just search by name. With the account open: Bulk edits → select the campaigns → Duplicate → Duplicate in another ad account. Disapproved ads are copied too and go through Meta's review again in the destination account.
Only Meta can reactivate the account, through the review. Ads Editor can't reverse the deactivation.
The same place shows other account warnings: Pending payment on Meta (settle it in Billing and payments in Ads Manager), Account under analysis by Meta (you can still publish, but the account may be limited when the review ends), Account in closing, and Account closed (you can't create or duplicate into it). When several accounts are selected, the banner lists each one by name.
